What to Expect

We know visiting a new church can be stressful and overwhelming, so we really appreciate your interest in learning more about Fox Hill Road Baptist Church. We have provided the answers to some questions below, but if you have more questions, please feel free to contact us at: 757-851-8475 or FHRBCoffice@gmail.com

What time should I arrive?

We have multiple Sunday School classes for all ages beginning at 9:30am. Corporate Worship Service begins at 10:45am.

If you plan to drop off your child(ren) for Wee Worship during Corporate Worship service, please consider arriving a few minutes before 10:45am to check them in and make for a smooth drop off process. There will be members available to help you if it's your first time!

Where should I enter?

We recommend entering through the side door where the bulletin boards and general info notices are located, as well as the classrooms and nursery.

This main hallway will provide you with more information about who we are and current events available at the church.

Address

335 Fox Hill Road Hampton, VA 23669

What should I wear?

We want the focus to be on worship, not attire. You will find that there is no dress code when it comes to our church.

On any given Sunday you will see everything from t-shirts and jeans, to dresses, ties, and jackets.

What kind of music do you have?

We sing a mix of traditional and modern hymns, along with some contemporary songs.

We value simplicity in our corporate worship and prioritize the singing of the congregation. We encourage you to sing, raise hands, and worship in whichever way you feel led.

We consider our collective congregational voice as the most important instrument in our corporate worship. Instrumentally, we are led by a group of talented musicians and various instruments (including: piano, guitar, bass, etc.).

What should I expect during the worship service?

Our Sunday services typically last 75 minutes (10:45am-12pm) and consist of several elements.

First, the sermon will always be the primary part of the service. Our church is committed to teaching through books of Bible verse-by-verse. We believe that God’s Word is the foundation for all that we do.

Second, we will spend time during our service singing songs. The purpose of our singing is to worship God and encourage one another. Each service usually consists of five songs.

Third, we spend a portion of the service in prayer. We normally begin and end each service with prayer and have multiple times of prayer in between.

Finally, on the first Sunday of every month, we observe the ordinance of the Lord's Supper.

Do you have something for my kids?

Yes!

During Sunday School, we have classes for all ages, from Nursery and onward.

During the Worship Service, we value parents modeling worship for their kids, so children are always welcome to stay with you for the entire service. We expect and welcome some extra noise from the little ones as we worship!

For those who are interested, we have nursery available for the entirety of the Worship Service. We also have Wee Worship for potty-trained 3-year-olds to Kindergarteners that starts after the worship songs and right before the sermon starts.

We utilize a ticketed check-in/pick-up process for nursery and Wee Worship. Please present your printed ticket to pick up your little one(s) after service!

On Sunday evenings, we also have a Bible study for Students 6th-12th grade from 5pm-6:30pm.

Each of our volunteers is thoroughly background checked through MinistrySafe.
